Progress Tags

How progress tags work and how to use them to track a job

You will often need to perform some task on a set of objects. For example, you may need to review 25 shipments to allocate credits to customers. However you will quickly discover the real world interrupts you often and it can be difficult to keep track of where you are in the list. This is what Progress Tags are built for.

What are Progress Tags?

Progress Tags are just a mode of operation for any tag that you own. When in Progress Mode, each modification you make to a tagged object will be recorded so you can see where you are in the list.

Note that you must be the creator of the tag for Progress Mode to become available. Otherwise, anybody else working on the tagged objects would interfere with your own progress tracking.

Using Progress Tags

When you view items tagged with a tag that you own, you will see an additional icon in the table tools.

Progress Tags

Click on the icon to enter Progress Mode. Whenever the owner of a tag uses an action on a tagged object, the tag "progresses". In other words, the item is marked completed and counts towards the completion of the tag. Each completed item is highlighted in the table. In the example below, an action has been applied to one of the tagged shipments.

You can click on the Progress Statement to see the Reset Progress button. Click this to reset the progress to zero.
