Each customer account can have one or more credit cards registered. In order to accept a payment via credit card, the card must first be registered with the account.
Once a card is registered, it is possible to charge the card without the cardholder present. You can enter the credit card details in the registration form when your customer provides them over the phone or via some other method.
To begin you should Edit the customer account (by going to Customers | Accounts)
Now go to the Credit Cards tab and click Register Credit Card
From here you can enter the details of your customer's credit card
Only the Card Number and Expiry Month / Year are required to register a new card. The CVV code and Address fields are used for additional verification if the payment provider performs those checks.
After clicking Submit the card will be verified with the payment provider and a summary will be displayed, including any authentication or other messages. Only if the provider accepts the card details will the credit card be added to the customer file.
